The charming neighbourhood of Applewood is located in south Mississauga Ontario. It is one of Mississauga’s older neighbourhoods.  Its conception began in the 1950s and is conveniently located in the south east corner of Mississauga.  This prime location is minutes away from the Mississauga City Centre and the Metropolitan City of Toronto.  Applewood is nestled between Cawthra Road to the west and Etobicoke Creek to the east and Burnhamthorpe Road to the north and The Queen Elizabeth Way to the south.  The industrial park in the area creates two distinctive communities, Applewood Acres and Applewood Hills.  Applewood Acres is located to the south of the Queensway while Applewood Hills lies to the north of Dundas Street.

The close-knit community of Applewood Acres boasts residents that are very active with community spirit.  The resident’s association hosts many seasonal events ranging from a spring Easter Egg Hunt, an annual summer BBQ and Swim and an autumn Pumpkin Walk.  There is also a quarterly newsletter that is published by Apple Press that keeps residents up to date with the neighbourhood events.  You will find Applewood Acres nestled within the boundaries of Cawthra Road to the west, Dixie Road to the east, Queensway Road to the north and North Service Road to the south.

Applewood Acres maintains approximately 1200 households.  The original housing plan that was erected in the 1950s is still largely integral to the area.  The household models range from quaint ranch-style bungalows, split level, one and a half-storey homes as well as the two-storey homes.  The lot size for the Acres are substantial enough to have caught the eye of new construction.

Homeowners in Applewood Acres enjoy a very unique lifestyle.  The Westacres Park is the setting for many community-oriented events.  There are the annual functions as well as many other festivities coordinated by organizations such as the Applewood Garden Club as well as local school fund raising.   The community relishes in that hometown feeling of belonging with a small-town pride.  You are not just a homeowner or a visitor you are a part of a larger community, a friend…. a valued neighbour.

What better way to get to know your neighbours than to partake of the many recreational attributes that Applewood has to offer.  The hub of the Westacres park is dedicated to the enjoyment of children with a playground for families to gather.  There are lovely paths to stroll along and enjoy the changing of the seasons. There are tennis courts for the more energetic to enjoy as well.    Applewood has many cycling venues for those who like to be on the move.  The Applewood Trail winds through the beautiful Applewood Valley and The Queensway Trail parallels the Queensway from Glengarry to Etobicoke Creek. The Applewood Heights Park outdoor pool is a wonderful summer addition for families and the adjacent playground is perfect for those lazy hazy days of summer.  Applewood has a little something for everyone.
